WRITING JOURNAL: Just 90 days past launch, and we’re about to surpass 3,000 orders and 100 very welcome ratings/reviews, plus hundreds of thousands of additional page reads on the Kindle Unlimited platform. All in all, we think these numbers represent about 4,000 readers as of today, and interestingly enough, more than half of recent orders are coming from overseas (we’ve received a slew of requests for a German translation). While these numbers don’t quite make GRONE a breakthrough NYT bestseller, they are VERY encouraging, especially given that it’s a new book by an unknown author.
Reviews from critics and readers alike have been almost universally wonderful, and at one time or another, for a brief time, the book has claimed the #1 spot in both the Cyberpunk and Space Opera categories on Amazon. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t thrilled. I NEVER expected such an incredible response.
We’re all a little out of breath from the craziness here in Cumbyland. It’s been a wild ride, and it’s about to get wilder with the release of the GRONE audiobook and the new companion novel, LONGSTAR, coming later this year. We’re pretty excited, to say the least, and as for me personally, I’m at my desk at all hours writing as fast as I can. Y’all just wait, we’re all in this together, and it’s going to be fun!
